Press Release – Casa Goes Tax Free

Chesterfield’s Casa Hotel, voted the fourth best hotel in the UK, is to cut out VAT on food and drink, in support of the National Tax Parity Day.

Taking place on Wednesday 25th September, all food and drinks in the hotel’s Cocina Restaurant will be reduced by 7.5% for one day only, in a bid to highlight the benefit of a VAT reduction in the hospitality industry.

At present, all food and drink sold in the hospitality sector, including restaurants, bars and pubs, is subject to 20% VAT.

Steve Perez, owner of Casa Hotel, says:

“The higher tax in the hospitality sector pushes prices up, which therefore forces people to stay at home instead of enjoying eating out. By reducing the amount of VAT charged, we can make dining out a more affordable option. Casa Hotel’s Cocina Restaurant is a beautiful venue with a stunning menu and we want everyone to be able to enjoy it; hopefully the Tax Parity Day will show the Government that this can become a reality.”

To take advantage of the one-day tax reduction at Casa, reserve a table at Cocina Restaurant on 01246 245 990 between 6pm-11pm on Wednesday 25th September, or visit
